This year’s World Migratory Bird Day theme is Every Bird Counts-Your Observations Matter! Stop by our Visitor Center to learn about migratory birds and how community science and public participation in bird conservation benefits our feathered friends, then put your craft skills to work to help migrating birds. Topics and activities will change daily.
Tuesday: Build-a-Bird Craft: Learn about some amazing avian adaptations and how to observe birds in your own space and build your own bird friend using Model Magic and craft supplies.
Wednesday: Build a Bird Feeder: Give birds a helping hand on their migration journey by providing them with food or water. Make your own feeder with recycled materials.
Thursday: DIY Bird-Friendly Window Decals: Be a friend to birds by making your home bird-friendly. Learn about how window decals can make your windows safer and make a few of your own with Puffy Paint.
Friday: Make a Bird Nesting Materials Holder: Learn what materials are safe to provide for birds building their nests and make a holder with your own natural materials to help birds this spring.
Saturday: Make Native Seed Balls: Native plants rock! Learn about how natives can benefit birds and insects and make a seed ball to throw in our field or your own space.
Sunday: Nature Scavenger Hunt: Pick up a Nature Scavenger Hunt in our Visitor Center to complete as you explore. Show us your coolest find for a sticker prize!
