11:30am – 12:15pm | Live Bird Show with Last Chance Forever Raptor Rescue | Amphitheater | This is your chance to see caracaras, vultures, eagles, and hawks* up close and personal! Learn about why raptors are at the top of the food chain and more about the individual species. Thank you to our partners at Last Chance Forever Raptor Rescue. *actual species of raptor may vary on day-of event. |

How does climate change affect the timing of migration? How long do birds live? Learn the purpose of banding birds, how it helps us to answer these questions and more, and how studying birds can help us better protect them and the places they live. |
9:00 – 1:00pm | Golf Cart Wetland Tours | Sign up for a tour at the Leeper House Visitor Center and tours depart from the Lawn Game Area |
Hop on a golf cart with a Mitchell Lake naturalist to learn more about our center, wetlands, and the birds that use our site as a stopover during their migration journey. Tours last approximately 30-45 minutes. Sign up for a tour at the Leeper House Visitor Center – limited seats available on a first come, first serve basis. |
9:00 – 1:00pm | Activity Booth: Duck ID Game | Pavilion | Test your waterfowl knowledge and learn about different duck species. |
9:00 – 1:00pm | Lawn Games: Feed the Pelican & Pollinator Tic Tac Toe | Across from Leeper House Visitor Center | Enjoy lawn games while waiting for your golf cart, or just to enjoy! Games include a bean-bag toss to “Feed the Pelican” and tic tac toe with pollinators! |
9:00 – 1:00pm | Storybook Walk - Señorita Mariposa by Ben Gundersheimer | Along Education Trail - Start at Pavilion | Take a self-guided stroll along the Education Trail to “read” Señorita Mariposa by Ben Gundersheimer and participate in book-related activities along the way. |
9:00 – 1:00pm | Recycled Nature Book Sale | Leeper House Visitor Center | Come browse our selection of used books about nature and the natural world. Topics include birds, plants, field guides, pollinators, and more! 100% of the profits go directly to supporting the Center. Prices start at $0.50. |
